Genesis 1:3-5, Light is good

Light is Good

Genesis 1:3 And God said, "Let there be light, and there was light."

On day one God created light. He commanded it and it came to be. God saw that the light was good. Darkness can not contain God nor can it contain his Word. Jesus came into a dark world and illuminated it. Dispersing the darkness is what Jesus does. He will do the same in our hearts. In sin, our hearts are dark, but Jesus came to disperse sin and make us good, full of light.

Our hearts and not to be filled with darkness, ladies. Our hearts are to be filled with light, so much so that the light from our lives brightens the way for other to see the way to Jesus. Do you want to be declared good? Then, fill your life with the Light of the world, his name is Jesus. John 8:12

Genesis 1:2, Empty Life

Empty Life,

Genesis 1:2Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

This is life without Jesus; empty, dark, no point to it. People try to find purpose and seek to find worth in living but it turns out lacking the satisfaction desired. How will they find the hope and fulfillment they seek?  Contentment only comes as they yield to the Spirit's promptings to reach out to God.

K and A, when you feel empty in life wondering where it is headed, follow the Spirit's promptings and seek God earnestly, with all your heart (Deuteronomy 4:29). The Spirit is hovering over you like a seagull over the ocean, and he desires you to remain true to the calling on your life. Life doesn't have to be formless and empty, be filled today.

Genesis 1:1, In The Beginning

In the Beginning

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Today is the start of another year of college, a new beginning. God created this day and has placed you where you are to be an influence for his kingdom. Heaven and earth were created for a purpose and he created you for a purpose as well. I have found that there is not a mysterious plan for each of us. Rather, he has made his purpose known. It is to "Love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:30 & 31).

Daughters, be God's obedient creation. Serve him with all your being, do the things you already know to do, and he will show you how to love those around you for the sake of his kingdom. Then you will find life's purpose and be fulfilled knowing you have found his plan for your life here on the earth he created!
