Elder Qualifications IV

Titus 1:9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Elder Qualifications IV

• Holds firmly to the message of the gospel - sound doctrine
• He does not waver in his belief of the Gospel message.
• He lives the Gospel message
• That message is this (according to James):
• To care for those who cannot care for themselves
• To keep from being polluted by the world - do not become like them
• Encourage others using sound doctrine
• Does not use the wisdom of the world to lift people, rather he uses principles found in scripture
• Refutes those opposed to the Message
• Does not sit idly by as people claim "truths" not backed up by the Word
