8k. Quarrelsome, 1 Timothy 3:2-3

8k. Quarrelsome

1 Timothy 3:2-3 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

Quarrelsome - apt to be in a verbal conflict

There are some people who always seem to be in an argument. This is bad enough, but those who create conflict with their arguments are destructive. There is no peace with a person of such nature. It is especially harmful in the church when important issues need discussed. Progress cannot go forward, the issues cannot resolved and there will be no unity of mind or spirit.

Daughters, what kind of persons are you. Do you seek to create an atmosphere of unity during discussions? It is important that you do not tear others down to get your point across. That is a delicate task at times, for some people take the rejection of their ideas as rejection of them personally. Leaders must hash out ideas, principles, methods, and settle disputes, among other tasks... make sure you do not become the problem. You be the one who is the peacemaker who offers the solutions.

Proverbs 21:19 Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.
