Perfecting Holiness Part 2: God's Temple, 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 7:1

Perfecting Holiness: God's Temple

2 Corinthians 6:16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. And God has said, "I will live with them and walk among them and they will be my people."

Who will receive the promises of the Lord? Those that believe on his name, who take him as both Savior and Lord. They knew that they were lost in sin and desired a way out. Nothing they could do was able to free them from the penalty of sin, but they became confident that what was told them from the Scriptures was true. Jesus paid the debt of sin and they believe it. But, there is more to believing than knowing Jesus paid it all. It is the rest of that line of music... All to Him I owe. Believing in Jesus encompasses all he said and did. We must believe in his commands allowing him to rule our lives, after all what is a lord if he has no control over his people?

If we are to be friends of God, then we must stop being children of the world and become children of God in all we believe, say, and do! We must move from doing things our way to doing it his way. As James says in chapters 3 and 4 of his book, do things in heavenly wisdom, giving up on our own ambitions. Then, he will come and abide with us. We will become his temple.

Daughters, be the friend of God, a true believer in Christ. As a child of God, you hold a special place in God's heart. He wants to encompass all your heart. He desires for you to be void of the world and it hopes and fears. You can be different. After all, you are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19).
