This verse is short but gives us the overview of the essence of the gospel message... Jesus Christ. The message is more than just the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is that the gospel is Jesus Christ. The word gospel is translated as good news. Jesus is that good news! He descended from David and lived and taught the good news of the kingdom of heaven, suffered at the hands of sinners, was sacrificed for them through a horrible death on the cross, but rose again to new life and now sits at the right hand of the God the Father in heaven. He went there to prepare a place for all those who believe on him and will one day come to take away from this earth all those whose names are written in the Book of Life to be with him forever! Certainly, Jesus is the good news!

K and A, you know this Jesus. Keep yourself pure before him, for those who soil their garments will be blotted out of the Book of Life. This is a scary thought, for those not found there, for they are destine for everlasting torment in the lake of burning sulfur... not the place one wants to spend eternity! So, remember this Jesus in his fullness for he is the good news for all mankind, the way of eternal life!
