Psalm 94:22

November 26, 2015

Psalm 94:22... But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God, the rock in whom I take refuge...

But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. (Ps 59:16) Today's verse speaks of the confidence that can be placed in the Lord. He is not a God a who stands idly by. He cares about what is happening. He is close and sees what is going on. It matters not where we are for he is there. (Am I only a God nearby? Jer 23:23)

We can rest assured that where ever we go God is there. In times of trouble, and Jesus said troubles will come (Jn 16:33), we can run to the Lord for his protection and strength. He is active in our lives. "He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bare." (1 Cor 10:13) In Psalms 33:13-15 it tells us that God is watching from above and sees us and works in our lives and considers all we do. Romans 8:28 says all thing turn out for the good if we love him and do his will. We, then, can take refuge in him and be confident that we will protect us.

K and A, will you trust him? Where do you run when times get tough? Run to the Lord. he will help you and bring you peace. He can be your place of refuge where you can find protection from troubles and all that comes against you. There you will find peace. But you ask, what does it mean to run to the Lord? Run to the Lord in prayer. There is where you will find that he will draw close to you and peace will flood your soul. Read Philippians 4:4-7... Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. This is what you need. Do it all the time then when troubles come they won't seem near as overwhelming. God is there for you girls. No matter where you are, he is there. His arms of love and compassion are there to hold you close.
