Psalm 39: 6...Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be...
This is mankind. They look at the "now" and cannot see the future; they do not look down the road at what will be. Each one lives for the moment. Whether it is with money and possessions or in relationships or jobs, they look for what they can have now.
Hebrews 13:5 say to keep yourselves from free from the love of money and to be satisfied because God will never leave you or forsake you. We need not to worry about tomorrow but that doesn't mean we don't plan for it. But in verse 6 and here in verse 5 we see that what really matter is we have prepared to have God so our future will be richly rewarded because only what is done for him counts in the end.
A, K, do you seek to have things and money in order to be well off? Do you consider what will be later instead of living for the moment. Be patient in regards to finances. Be slow in relationships. Spend your time strengthening your relationship with God and be satisfied with what you now have. The world lives for the moment, so sexual problems arise. People live for the moment so they party and drink and dance and amuse themselves with deviant pleasures. Don't allow the world to squeeze you into its mold (Ro 12:2)... and don't let today's church do it either. Instead be God's clay and allow him to mold you in his way. This you will find pleasurable, not only in the moment but especially in the future. ~Dad
