Psalm 45:7... You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy...
Proverbs is full of the benefits of righteousness and the dangers of wickedness. They are practical examples of how to avoid wickedness and the results of living it. Conversely, the book of Proverbs speaks of righteousness and why you should embrace it. For example, Prov 4:18... "The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day"... God promises good for those that are righteous; those who live right according to his ways. then 19 says " but the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble."... Their hardships are compounded one on another
It is important that we live lives pleasing to God. It not only produces a result in this life but in the life to come. In Matt 25 God shows what happens to those not living as he requires. Notice it is not just as he desires but as he requires. If you are DOING right (many do not teach this today), you will not make it to the kingdom. Instead you will be with those who are wicked. You will be sent to eternal punishment instead of eternal life (Mt 25:46).
Make no mistake young ladies, God pays you for how you live. IF you live in wickedness, then you will get paid for it, but the opposite is true and thankfully so. If you live in righteousness, you get blessed with many rewards. This is true now as well as later and this verse tells you that... Live righteously and be soothed with joy. Sounds like the best way to live! ~Dad
