Psalm 43:3 Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell...
Where does God dwell? can we actually go to that place? Is it too holy for us to be there? The people of Israel were not allowed to touch the mountain, not even an animal was allowed to touch it or it would die! (Ex 19:12) Are we any better than them?
God is holy and we cannot stand directly in his presence until the end of times when our bodies will be transformed. But we can come to him as Moses did and and catch a glimpse of his holiness. This is only possible if we have a transformed heart. If we clothe ourselves in Jesus - the light of the world (Jn 8:12) - , we can go to God and worship him. We can approach him in confidence and know that he will accept us. What an honor to come before the creator of the universe. As Christian we have become one of his children. We are given the honor of being the King's children.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (Jn 14:6) God did send forth his light and truth, Jesus. He made it possible for us to become a child of God. We can approach him on his holy mountain to the place where he dwells and we can dwell with him.
K and A, trying to live in this world as his child is not possible if we have not learned to spend time with him in his presence. Sure church is good, but until you spend time to meet with him in his Word and in prayer you will live defeated lives. Daughters, a defeated life is one where we find the world's ways acceptable. If you love the world, its music and its pleasures, you cannot be his child, because the Father is not in you (1 Jn 2:15). Don't be trapped by the enticements that the world portrays for they are Satan's snare, ready you capture you. Seek God and be a slave to righteousness (Ro 6:18) for in that there is true freedom. ~Dad
