Psalm 24:3 & 4... Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place?... He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol, or swear by what is false...
We can stand before the Lord. How? If we have been cleansed by the blood of Christ, then we have been cleansed and purified. But we must remain that way! We cannot expect to go to him when we have soiled ourselves like nothing happened.
In verse 4 it says that we must not lift up our soul to an idol. Idols are coming back into popularity. Good luck charms are idols, rabbit's foots, horseshoes, or four leaf clovers: many people trust these things for their future... or at least hope they help. They psychical things that are added to their faith in Christ to get them by in life. Sometimes they are other people... can you think of any?
The second part of verse 4 says we cannot go before God with a life that is marred with falsehood. Living or telling lies will keep us from approaching God. Saying you are one way and living another is living falsely. Lying to protect yourself, to get ahead or in any form (all liars, Rev 21:8) will lead you down the road to the lake of sulfur.
So A, who may ascend the hill. Who, K, may stand confidently before the Lord. Those that are honest and have integrity. Those who have been cleansed by Christ and live holy lives. My prayer is that you two chose too live pure lives and that holiness is a burning desire of your heart. Playing with the world will cause you to loose your focus, make you weak, and lead you down the wrong road. Flee the worlds ways and live a life of no regrets. ~Dad.
