Psalm 60:4... But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow...

God protects his people. He gives them strength and hope and they can count on him. But, there is a requirement on our part... we must fear him. An example of this can be found in Exodus 17 where God protects Israel in battle as long as Moses kept his hands on the air (Ex 17:11). It took obedience to the Lord and it was easy to see what happen if Moses wasn't obedient... Israel started losing.

We need to trust God but we have a responsibility to listen and be obedient to him and realize that if we fail to fear the Lord, we learn that the consequences we feared come to pass.

A, many people think that, as Christians, we do not need to fear the Lord. This is wrong Christ specifically says to fear God, because he can send both your body and soul into hell (Luke 12:5). Perfect loves does casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Daughter, make sure you love him perfectly by being obedient to his way, and you can rest in his banner of love. ~Dad
